Brown Owl's Birthday Tea - MINI BUNDLE OF GAMES & ACTIVITIES

Children make their own accordion books to help them read some the key words from 'Brown Owl's Birthday Tea' by Rachel Schmidlechner and Nadja Grace Bodner.The books are very simple to make.  Simply cut off the edges, fold along the middle line and then fold like a fan. Practise reading and writing key words from the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl's Birthday Tea' by Rachel Schmidlechner and Nadja Grace Bodner.These wordmats can be used in lots of different ways1) I spy with my little eye … Fox! (children point at Fox or place their rubber on it, for example).  This can also be done as pairwork.2) colour dictation - I spy with my little eye … a green frog!3) bingo - each child chooses three pictures and places something on them, e.g. counters/glass nuggets.  The teacher draws the picture cards at random and once their three have been called, the children shout 'Bingo!'.This can also be played in groups with a bingo master for each group.4) hide the wordcards / flashcards around the room and the children label the pictures themselves.
