MUSIC PROJECT OVERVIEW
This English Unit provides the teacher with extensive materials so that Ss can create a product ( podcast; presentation; poster) regarding their favorite musician or band.
My pack contains:
You will find materials for 5 lessons a lesson plan and some extra vocabulary ( 2 vocabulary lessons + 1 reading lesson + 1 listening lesson + 1 Task launch lesson + Lesson plan and 1 extra material to help students who struggle with vocabulary acquisition + assessing criteria)
Main aims:
Teacher makes sure Students are able to express their preferences/ musical tastes;
Ss are able to present their favorite artist both in their biography and in their discography;
Ss are able to express the reason why they prefer that singer/band's musical genre (express what they like and what they dislike).
The biography should be used in the Simple past.
Prerequisite: It is necessary for students to know the simple past of verbs.
Level CEFR A2-B1+
LESSON 1
Ss know essential vocabulary regarding MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS and MUSICAL CATEGORIES.
LESSON 2
· To provide the students with useful vocabulary regarding music.
At the end of the lesson students will be able to know vocabulary of words such as tune, gig, venue, lyrics, meaningful as well be able to produce simple sentences using vocabulary as taught.
LESSON 3
· Students practice the vocabulary learned in lesson 2 by practicing their reading and reading comprehension skills in a written text regarding songwriter Mika.
· Ss practice their ability to understand a text for gist and detailed comprehension
LESSON 4
· Students practice their listening skills and practice their ability to understand a music text for gist and detailed comprehension
LESSON 5
Task based activity.
Ss are asked to produce language and to create a power point / poster / podcast regarding their favourite band or singer
