This set of flashcards includes a wide variety of animals, 102 in all!!! You can find 23 pets and farm animals, 40 wild animals, 21 sea animals and 18 bugs and insects. Each one has a different frame colour for you to be able to identify them quickly if you only need one kind. Pets and farm animals have a purple frame, wild animals have a green frame, sea animals a blue frame and bugs and insects have an orange frame.The pictures used are real photographs of animals. They are great to use for preschool, kindergarten, speech therapy, autism, ESL, special education and early intervention.You can use these animal flashcards to introduce the vocabulary. If you need to print a smaller version of the set you can print several pages per printed page. If you print two copies of either size you can use them to play a memory game. This is a really fun game! The idea is to work on vocabulary related to pets and farm animals. First you put the page with all the animals inside a flat tray and cover it with sand, rice, cornmeal or something similar. You place the deck of cards upside down. Then one of the children takes a card and asks his/her friends ‘Where is the pig hidden?’ and taking turns the rest of the children must use their fingers to move whatever is covering the animals and try to find that specific one.Extra! You can use the flashcards to play so many other games! For example giving small groups the set of flashcards and asking them to spread them around. Then you say ‘Show me the horse!’ and they must pick up the correct card. You can play this in a competitive way or not.
