Tongue twisters are a great way to practise sounds and pronuciation in a fun and relaxed manner.Children will love to try out this Busy Lizzy tongue twister and take home their own coloured version. I have also included a pre-coloured version to print and display in the classroom.Busy Lizzy is a character in the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl and the Bee Hive', written by myself, Rachel Schmidlechner and illustrated by Nadja Grace Bodner.Once the children get the hang of the tongue twister, why not have a competition to see who can say it the fastest without getting their tongue in a twist! Or see who can say it the most times in one minute!Have fun reading and rhyming with Brown Owl!

Practise key words from the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl and the Bee Hive' by Rachel Schmidlechner and Nadja Grace Bodner. These wordmats can be used in lots of different ways:1) I spy with my little eye … Busy Lizzy! (children point at Busy Lizzy or place their rubber on it, for example). This can also be done as pairwork.2) colour dictation - I spy with my little eye … pink and purple flowers!3) bingo - each child chooses three pictures and places something on them, e.g. counters/glass nuggets. The teacher draws the picture cards at random and once their three have been called, the children shout 'Bingo!'.This can also be played in groups with a bingo master for each group.4) hide the wordcards / flashcards around the room and the children label the pictures themselves = copy-writingDifferentiation: they use a pencil to write the words how they think they are spelt and then find the word cards in the room to check their work.Have fun reading and rhyming with Brown Owl!
