This BINGO game is a great way to practise and consolidate summer vocabulary. The key words are taken from my rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl at the Seashore'.It can be played as a class or in small groups with a quizmaster.I have included a set of picture/word cards for the quizmaster to draw at random. If you print two sets, they double up as a game of pairs too.If someone gets three pictures in a row, they shout LINE!If they get all nine pictures, they shout BINGO!I like to embed each word in a sentence so that the children are exposed to as much language as possible. E.g. Simon Says is a popular total physical game that helps children to internalise language by connecting it to an action.Furthermore, they have to listen carefully to see if they should do the action or not.For example, if the teacher says: "Simon says, you are eating an ice cream", the children should demonstrate this with an action.If however, the teacher only says: "You are eating an ice cream!", the children should stand still.
