This is a really fun game! The idea is to work on food vocabulary and simple commands such as ‘Put away the…’ or ‘Put the… in the fridge’ / ‘Take out the…’.
At first, you can cut the food items and ask the children to give each other commands regarding what item they should put away. Later on, when they get the hang of the game you can add the extra silly items (socks, ball, cat, book, teddy bear, toothbrush), mix them upside down on the table or inside a small bag or box. Then ask the children to take them out randomly and give them to a friend together with the command to put them away. Whoever gets a silly item out must be extra careful NOT to put it in the fridge, because if he/she is caught by his mates (who must shout ‘Don't put THAT in the fridge!) he/she loses the next turn.
You can print the large A3 copy of this pdf to work with your whole group of students or the smaller A4 version to work in smaller groups. I've included 2 different fridge posters so that you can choose the one you prefer!
You also get the link to a Genial.ly version of the game, which you can use in your classroom or video conferences.
