This set features ten differentiated word searches, with each consecutive grid increasing in challenge. It focuses on 25 English Christmas words, which will also help to develop students’ awareness of some English-speaking countries Christmas traditions and figures. There is some focus on the UK, with vocabulary such as Boxing Day, Christmas cracker and mince pies. The vocabulary is really useful for stimulating discussion about UK Christmas practices and customs in general. Students also enjoy talking about other Christmas traditions they know or follow. The vocabulary list features the definite article, though some grids also have the indefinite article / plurals for additional challenge. There are 10 word searches in the set:= Grids 1-5 show the English word in full, and students search for them in the grid. For additional consolidation,  students also have to write out the corresponding word again. = Grids 6 & 7 show the words with gaps, so students have to work out what the word is before they can search for it in the grid. They also write out the complete word for additional consolidation. = Grids 8 & 9 prompt with scrambled words, and again students have to work out what the word is before they can search for it in the grid, also writing out the corresponding word in full. = Grid 10 features a blend of both gap and scrambled words in English, again with the corresponding word list to complete. There is an answer grid for each word search, so that students can check their answers, or use for a little extra help if they need it. The answer keys help them develop independence in their learning, and also provide them with an additional opportunity to engage with the English Christmas vocabulary. The word searches and answer keys are in landscape format, with arrows indicating in which direction the individual words are located. There is an alphabetical English Christmas vocabulary list which students find really helpful. TWO GAMES AND CHALLENGES A lively and communicative whole-group language learning game. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompts of the English Christmas images, makes it perfect for practising, reinforcing and refreshing English Christmas vocabulary.  The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too.There are 32 Christmas words in English, and there's a UK Christmas theme with some of the words, for example Christmas cracker, mince pies and Christmas pudding.  The aim of the game is to arrange the cards in the relevant order. Students can either create a human chain, holding the cards themselves, or a card line, on the floor, a longish table or other flat surface.  It's likely that students will have more than one card each per game, depending on the size of the class. The vocabulary and images provide a really useful stimulus for discussion about Christmas traditions and practices in the UK and other English-speaking countries.There are two games, each with a different challenge:= Challenge 1: the nouns written out in full with the definite article, and the Q & A I have... Do you have...? Students walk around, calling out the question.= Challenge 2: the nouns are in a different order, with only the definite article, and the Q & A Do you have...? Yes / No, I have... . This challenge puts students’ vocabulary recall to the test, and students walk around, addressing other students individually.Play either as a whole-group game, or as a team game - which team can complete the challenge first? ENGLISCHE WEIHNACHTSAKTIVITÄTEN ENGLISH CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES ENGLISH CHRISTMAS BINGO FOR GERMAN-SPEAKING STUDENTS: if you have already purchased English Christmas Bingo, this set is essentially the same, with the addition of a calling card in German for additional differentiation and challenge.Games with goals: lots of festive fun with these Christmas bingo games - an ideal multi-skill language learning activity for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills for English learners of all ages.  Bingo games are really easy to differentiate, and there is a range of differentiated grid formats to choose from: 12-square grids; 30-square grids; picture only and blend of words & pictures, providing learners with a real opportunity to practise all four language skills.There are 100 grids in total, in both colour & BW. The colour grids definitely look really good, but can prove expensive to prepare; you can laminate these girds for use with wipe-free pens, so that the grids can be used many times. These games are designed for players to cross off all the words or pictures on their grids in order to win the game - choose a Christmas-theme word or phrase as the winning word, and ensure that winners read out their completed grids in order to confirm the win: this also acts as additional language practice.  With the words and pictures grids, students have to be extra attentive, as some grids contain both the word and the corresponding picture.The set comprises the following:= 40 picture-only bingo 12-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages) You can give students a random selection of pages, with students selecting the order of grids they play from.
