Ideal for cross-curricular learning about Europe in English class, and for developing locational knowledge and awareness of world continents: discover Europe, its countries, capital cities and national flags.

These European countries, capitals and flags games cards are suitable for a broad range of learning phases at any time during the school year. Students can develop their knowledge of the geography and scope of Europe in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, and the set helps them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of the scope of Europe. Before playing for the first time, it's useful to show students a world map so that they can visualise the location of Europe globally, as well as the location of each individual country, and where it lies in relation to other countries across Europe. This gives students a real-world context to their learning. Revisit regularly to maximise the learning potential.

The set works well as a whole-group, small-group / stations or paired learning activity. It includes 60 European countries and islands, including several, such as Armenia, which lies only partly in Europe. There are 10 cards per page, the country flag and corresponding card with the country name and capital city, 12 pages in total. The country and capital city labels are across 3 pages. There is a 2-page reference list with all countries, capital cities and national flags. To save prep costs, it’s fine to provide your students with an electronic / digital copy of the reference list. The set features suggestions for games and activities that work really well in class. Laminate the reference sheets, cards and labels if possible, as they’re easier to manipulate and remain in excellent condition for years. All files are non-editable for copyright reasons.
