Lernen mal anders!

The Cooling House. Dieses Escape Game fördert kooperatives Lernen zu den wichtisgten Vokabeln im Restaurant und den Lebensmitteln.

Ideal zur Wiederholung oder eben auch mal als Abwechslung!

Themen:

vegetables, meat/animals, fish and seafood, cocktail, English Breakfast, phrases of a waiter

Dieses Escape Game funktioniert wie folgt:

die Story wird mittels Powerpoint präsentiert
Rästel 1 wird im Raum versteckt (Kippbild)
die Schüler reichen die Codes beim Lehrer ein und erhalten dann immer das nächste Rätsel
Rästel 2,3,4,5 und 7 sind QR-Rätsel, die zu learningapps.org führen (Bildbeschriftung, Zuordnung, Kreuzworträtsel, Memory® , Video) --> Beispiel: https://learningapps.org/watch?v=psrg9e01c20
Rätsel 6 und 8 sind in Papierform
Rätsel 8 führt die Schüler durch die Schule, wo sie dann den letzten Code finden, um die finale Box (das "Cooling House") öffnen und freikommen

I really like this Escape room, especially because it appeals to older students too and it is not that much for me to prepare - but while looking through all the QR-codes I noticed that the 7th station leads to a bloke talking about how to make a Bloody Mary - which I don't think is the video you intended. Especially bc there are no questions at the end either. And 9th to 10th grade are still too young to drink a Bloody Mary anyways.

I'm so sorry, just found the questions - I didn't see the small arrow in the bottom hand corner. Have decided to use this Riddle anyway - mostly bc my students would really appreciate having a riddle like that. They'll feel so grown-up :-) @miss_HEnglish sorry for the earlier comment, it was my mistake for not investigating it more. Looking forward to doing this Escape room on Monday. :-)

Hi :), I am glad that everything was cleared up. I created this escape room for my hotel and catering experts which are 17 years and older and work in the hospitality business. I suggested this game also for lower levels because of the English level. You are absolutely right when you say that "how to mix a bloody Mary" is not really suitable for younger students of English. I hope you enjoy the game. May I ask in which country you teach? Very exiting. :)

Das Material ist DER KNALLER!!!! Ich habe es an der Berufsschule bei Einzelhandelskaufleuten/Verkäufern eingesetzt und bei Rätsel 6 (Seafood) die deutschen Begriffe als Hilfestellung gereicht. Noch nie war die Klasse so ganzheitlich engagiert und aktiv, freue mich auf weitere Verwendung mit anderen Schülern. Gern mehr davon :)
