What happens when an AI answer sounds completely convincing… but isn’t true?

TRUST ME, I’M AI is a ready-to-teach 60–75 minute B2–C1 EFL lesson that develops students’ AI literacy, critical thinking, speaking and vocabulary through realistic, thought-provoking activities.

Rather than simply discussing the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence, students learn to question AI-generated information, identify unsupported claims, look for evidence and decide what should be verified before an answer is trusted.

Students will:

• investigate realistic AI-style responses — including answers that are accurate, subtly misleading and confidently wrong

• distinguish confidence from credibility

• identify claims that require evidence

• develop practical verification strategies

• use vocabulary such as credible, misleading, biased, verify, hallucination, overreliance, accountability and outsource

• discuss when AI should do the task, assist the human, or not lead the thinking

• explore the question: If AI can give us an answer in five seconds, what knowledge still needs to be inside our own heads?

• create their own AI Survival Code

• reflect on whether their views have changed by the end of the lesson
