Easter and Spring - BROWN OWL'S BUNDLE OF ACTIVITIES

BINGO is a great game to practise and consolidate vocabulary.It can be played as a class or in small groups with a quizmaster.I have included a set of picture/word cards for the quizmaster to draw at random. If you print two sets, they double up as a game of pairs too.If someone gets three pictures in a row, they shout LINE!If they get all nice pictures, they shout BINGO!I like to embed each word in a sentence so that the children are exposed to as much language as possible. E.g. I can see the Easter Bunny hopping about.The vocabulary in this game also comes up in my Easter I-spy picture and Easter poem.I hope you have fun teaching English with Brown Owl!

The aim of this resource is for children to understand and use prepostions to describe an Easter scene. It also refreshes Easter vocabulary.1) Use the busy Easter scene illustration to refresh and introduce key Easter vocabulary (eggs, basket, bunny, lamb, chicks, flowers etc).2) Use the flashcards and word cards to introduce and practise the prepositions: in, under, behind, next to, in front of, between, on and above.3) Use the worksheets to practise reading and writing the prepositions in context.A set of teacher's notes with lesson ideas and further activities is included.I hope you have fun learning English with Brown Owl!

Who am I? What am I? 1. I am an animal.2. I have got long legs.3. I have got long ears.4. I can hop.Children can test their knowledge of 15 spring and Easter words, whilst also practising reading, speaking & listening skills.Variation 1: The teacher reads the clues one by one to the class.    Variation 2: Partner/group work: A quiz master reads the clues one by one. This game is great fun, highly motivating and helps to consolidate spring and Easter vocabulary. It also improves reading, listening and speaking skills.How to play:1) Shuffle all 24 cards.2) Deal all cards to pupils in the class. Differentiation: some children get two cards. 3) The player with the first card starts: "I have got the first card. Who has got the Easter Bunny?"4) The child with the Easter Bunny is up next: "I have got the Easter Bunny.
