💬 Taboo Game – Family & Relationships

🎯 Target level: B1 - B2
🕒 Duration: 15–30 minutes
👥 Group size: Ideal for 3 - 5 people per group 

Included are 48 cards with a mix of family, friendship and romantic relationship vocabulary. There's a colourful version and a printer-friendly version attached as well as two empty templates each, so you can adapt the vocabulary to your class's needs. 

🎲 How To Play: 

1. Divide the class into small groups (3 - 5 people each). 

2. One student draws a card and describes the target word without using the provided taboo words.

3. The others try to guess the word as quickly as possible. 

4. The student who guesses correctly earns a point and draws the next card.
    

 🧠Differentiation Ideas:

• If the class doesn't know the target vocabulary yet, you can allow your students to use the taboo words for describing the targetwords. Makes it easier for the students to paraphrase it. 
  
  
• You can also play a round where they can ONLY read out the taboo words and the others need to guess the target word - works only if the students are very familiar with the key terms.
  
  
• Use the cards for a role-play activity. Each group draws 5 - 7 cards and prepares a short scene in which they must use the drawn target vocabulary.
