There are many different ways to use this spotter's list.
Traditionally you take it with you on holiday at the beach and see what you can spot.
Version 1: read and colour/cross off the objects that you see
Version 2: read and count how many times you see each object
Version 3: colour what you see
Version 4: read and draw what you have seen
However, not everyone spends their holidays at the seaside. In which case, you can use the spotter's list in conjunction with my rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl at the Seashore'.
It's a great way to practise key words that have come up in the story.
Whilst/after reading the picture book, children can go back and tick off/colour in/draw or count what they have seen.

Practise the new language with a BeeBot activity, dominoes, game of pairs, a quiz, wordsearch, ABC challenge, differentiated worksheets and more.There are two sets of key words. Encourage children to look at their surroundings with spotter's lists!Set includes: spring, at the zoo, at the beach, in the forest, autumn, Easter & Christmas.All you need is to print the sheet and take a pencil with you. If you spot something on the list, tick it off/cross it out/circle it.How many objects can you find? Can you find the TOP SPOT?Extra: Colour the objects exactly as you find them.N.B.
