Use these game cards to practise key words from the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl' by Rachel Schmidlechner and Nadja Grace Bodner.
How to play:
1) shuffle the cards
2) hand out one card to each pupil (some can have two cards if necessary)
3) the child with the first card begins: "I have got the first card. Who has got Brown Owl?"
4) The child with Brown Owl on their card carries on: "I have got Brown Owl. Who has got Cat?"
and so it goes on until the last card is played.
Once the children have got the hang of the game, they get faster and faster. You can turn it into a competition by timing them each round they play and seeing if they can improve on their record.
SET 1: This set is for readers and includes questions and answers on the cards (24 cards).
SET 2: This set is for non-readers and has only got pictures on the game cards. The language can be simplified for younger learners. e.g. 'Here is Brown Owl! Where is Cat?' or 'Brown Owl is here! Cat is next!' The set includes 16 cards
