Take a look inside the books! How many words can you find? How many words have you learned? What can you see in the background?These six ABC challenges give children the chance to show off the language they have learned with the 'Read and Rhyme with Brown Owl' books. These ABC challenges also generate new language as children are encouraged to look carefully at the illustrations and ask the teacher for any words that they don't know, e.g. What's 'Pokal' in English? (book 1) What's 'Zaun' in English? (book 2) What's 'stricken' in English? (book 3) What's 'Sonnenschirm' in English? (book 4) What's 'Tulpe' in English) (book 5) What's 'Herd' in English? This BINGO game is a great way to practise and consolidate vocabulary from my rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl'.A round of BINGO also improves children's focus, skills of observation, listening skills and ability to play by a set of rules.It can be played as a class or in small groups with a quizmaster.I have included a set of picture/word cards for the quizmaster to draw at random. If you print two sets, they can also be used as a game of pairs too.If someone gets three pictures in a row, they shout LINE!If they get all nine pictures, they shout BINGO!I like to embed each word in a sentence so that the children are exposed to as much language as possible. E.g. I can see Mum on a run. Look! It's Little Jean.
