Imagine you were sitting in a cosy chair in front of a warm fireplace. While drinking a delicious hot chocolate, you observe the falling snowflakes outside the window. Everything outside is white it looks like Winter Wonderland, you see the mountains covered with snow and the sun has almost set. A pen and your notebook are right next to you and you feel the urge to start writing. You are brainstorming what you could write about... After some time you come up with some topics.
Pre- writing:
a) Have a look at te ideas and decide what introduction/ information appeals most to you.
b) Brainstorm how the story could continue. Make a list or a mind map to structure your thoughts. You can use the mindmap underneath if you want.
Ideas: Include the information in your story or come up with own ideas.
1) Christmas Crime:
a) stolen sleigh - angry Santa - revenge
b) Santa got kidnapped - nasty snowman - the mafia
c) It was the morning of Christmas Day. I was still very sleepy. I just wanted to go down to find out what Santa had brought me when I heard a gunshot outside the window...
2) Christmas Romance:
a) getting lost at the Christmas market - running into someone special - kiss
b) New York City - the magic moment under the Christmas tree - the jealous elf
3) Christmas Story - you choose the genre
a) the Grinch - candle - elephant
b) snow storm - present - turkey
While-writing:
Write a story which includes at least ten sentences.
Tips: Remember to include adjectives and adverbs to make your story more entertaining. Also, make sure to vary your sentences types (not only short main clauses). You can have a look at the vocabulary in the boxes.
post-writing:
a) Check your spelling/ grammar/ logic and structure of your text.
b) Practice performing your text --> reading aloud. Optional: Find some cool music that you can quietly play in the background.✨
