This engaging 45-minute C1–C2 EFL/ESL lesson invites advanced learners to explore truth, deception and moral responsibility through an original reading text and a realistic ethical dilemma.

Learners move through one coherent sequence: they make initial judgements, read for argument and inference, explore useful language for expressing nuance, participate in a structured “moral hearing” and finish with a concise written judgement. Ideas and vocabulary introduced in the reading are deliberately reused during the speaking and writing stages.
