Περιγραφή

When does concern become control? When does jealousy stop being romantic? And what does respect actually look like in everyday relationships?

The Line is a carefully designed English and life-skills lesson for older teenage learners that explores healthy relationships, personal boundaries and controlling behaviour in a thoughtful, age-appropriate way.

Rather than focusing on disturbing stories or asking students to discuss personal experiences, the resource uses fictional situations, everyday language and gradual scenarios to help learners recognise how context, repetition, power and behaviour can change the meaning of an interaction.

Students explore:

  • care, concern and control – and why the difference is not always obvious

  • how individual behaviours can develop into patterns

  • the important difference between setting a boundary and controlling another person

  • emotional manipulation hidden inside seemingly ordinary phrases

  • common social beliefs surrounding jealousy, privacy, arguments and abuse

  • why leaving an unhealthy relationship may be far more complicated than it appears

  • the role of respect, autonomy, trust, communication and equality in healthy relationships

The final “The Line” challenge asks students to place fictional behaviours on a continuum from healthy to uncomfortable, controlling and abusive, supporting their choices with evidence and language developed throughout the lesson.

The resource has been deliberately created for a school context: students are never required to disclose personal experiences, and sensitive issues are approached through critical thinking rather than sensationalism.
