What happens when the plan suddenly falls apart?

The Plot Twist Project is a ready-to-print B2/B2+ lesson that takes students beyond traditional grammar and vocabulary practice. Through unexpected situations, conflicting witness accounts, quick decisions and creative plot twists, students retrieve and actively use language connected with adventure, communication, movement, weather, injuries and storytelling.

Grammar is recycled in context, with particular focus on Past Simple, Past Progressive, Past Perfect Simple and Past Perfect Progressive.

Students will:

• react to realistic unexpected situations and justify decisions

• reconstruct timelines and sequence past events

• distinguish between evidence, assumptions and contradictions

• retrieve and use movement, looking and speaking verbs

• transform a deliberately boring narrative into an engaging story

• create a story through a Plot-Twist Auction

• discuss independence, mistakes and “learning the hard way”

• finish with a books-closed retrieval task to check what they actually remember
