Descripción

Easily keep yourself and parents informed with what your ESL kids enjoy and encourage reflection on effort.

♦ Only a few minutes a lesson to get valuable feedback on what your young learners enjoyed about the class.

♦ Encourages self-reflection and assessment on effort according to your class norms, e.g., following class rules, working well with others, trying to use English.

♦ Fully editable so you can tailor to your context in just a few clicks.

♦ AND...includes class rules and personal information pages with plenty of ideas for how to use them.

How do you use them in class?

Perfect for the start of a new term or new school year!

  • Follow the included Activity Suggestions to agree on classroom rules that will make your teaching life so much easier for both you and the children.
  • Use the All about Me pages to find out what the children like and dislike. This can give you valuable information for you to bring the children’s interests into class. You can also use them in interactive conversation activities.
  • Take 5 minutes at the end of each class. The children simply colour the pictures of the activities they enjoyed the most. There’s a blank space for them to include a picture or a word for something that isn’t covered by the pictures. Again, a useful insight for us teachers!
  • The children also colour a smiley face according to the effort they think they put in that day. YOU define what they are taking into account. Are they self-assessing how well they worked with others? How hard they tried to speak in English that day? How much they tried to be kind to their classmates?

You might decide to share the booklets with the parents now and then to help keep them informed about their child’s participation in class and it can be useful as a starting point for any discussions regarding classroom behaviour.
