This part of my reading box contains nursery rhymes to practise certain letters that are difficult to pronouns for German students.
This nursery rhyme about Frank the frog practises the letter R.
I designed the rhyes in such a way that students feel motivated to read them and that they can have a bit of fun doing it.
Let the students read the text to themselves first. Then, let them read it to a partner and vice versa. In the next step, the partner (student 2) can mark the words that the student 1 didn't read correctly and student 1 goes back to practise the rhyme and vice versa.
Another possibility is to let them read the text with the stress signs, or to let them time themselves while reading. How fast can they read the rhyme without any mistakes? How far do they get? Let them count the words, for example.
At the end, of course, you can have a presentation. Students read to each other or in front of the class.
