London Dialogue Activities – Speaking English in Fun, Real-Life Situations
This dialogue activity focuses on oral language skills for authentic settings. Students imagine they are on a school trip to London with their friends, out shopping for trainers on Oxford Street.
The activity includes two worksheets: Role Card A and Role Card B, along with a word bank and dictionary section to support students who might need extra help. This setup allows learners to work on their dialogues independently from you and at their own pace.
I’ve designed the scenarios to match situations that really interest students at this age, so they feel engaged and motivated to take part. My students always love coming up with creative dialogues and acting them out for the class – we usually have a lot of fun with this activity, and it’s a great way to build confidence in speaking English.
At the end of the lesson, students act out their scenes, bringing their ideas to life in a lively and interactive way.
