Ready-to-use mini-unit about the Statue of Liberty. Students work with the poem The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus and think about why people leave their own country in order to move to another. They think about push and pull factors and then do a transfer task that asks them to think about which country they would choose to immigrate to.
