Tracing, drawing, coloring, cutting, gluing, sorting, counting, sequencing,… and much more!

The pack consists of 45 worksheets with simple and clear instructions. They are all based on the life and work of Jesus Christ (for instance the motivation for practicing straight vertical lines: “Trace the lines and then draw your own lines to create the shine that the shepherds saw when an angel appeared to them and told them about the birth of Jesus.“).

All mathematical worksheets that work with number concepts also come in a version without numerals – if the child does not yet know how to write numerals, his/her assignment is to draw the corresponding number of lines or dots.

The sequence of pre-writing skills goes from the easier to the more difficult elements.

Some of the worksheets are available in two versions:

1. easier version is marked with I. - the assignment is easier, mathematical sheets do not use numerals (instead, corresponding number of dots or lines is used: five dots instead of the number 5, etc.

2. more difficult version is marked with II. - the assignment is a little bit more difficult, mathematical sheets work with numerals

All worksheets are black and white. Almost all of the worksheets are double-sided.

LIST OF WORKSHEETS:

1) THE ANGEL TALKS TO MARY AND JOSEPH: visual perception

With a red pencil color all the pictures in which the angel talks face to face to Mary and to Joseph. With a green pencil color all figures that are standing facing us. With a yellow pencil color all the figures whose backs are turned to us.

Find and color in each frame the picture that is different from the others.

2) JOURNEY TO BETHLEHEM (I.,II.): visual/spatial perception + mathematical thinking

Find the path that Joseph and Mary took to get to Bethlehem. / Which path did Joseph and Mary take? Color their path: Three rocks to the right. Three rocks down., etc.

3) JESUS IS BORN: perception of time

What happened first? What next? What last? Cut the pictures out and put them in the right order to make the story of how Jesus was born.

4) SHEPHERDS: pre-writing skills + mathematical thinking

Trace the lines and then make your own lines to create the shine that the shepherds saw when an angel appeared to them to tell them about the birth of Jesus.

The shepherds ran to see the new born baby. As they were coming back, they told everyone about what they saw and what the angel told them. Make a line from the shepherds in the middle to everyone they met and told about Jesus (all the people on the paper). Make as many lines as there are people in each group. Who was not happy about the news? Who was surprised?

5) WISE MEN FROM THE EAST: pre-writing skills + visual perception

The wise men came to see Jesus from a far land. They followed a big shiny star. Trace the straight lines and then draw your own straight lines to create a path of the wise men, following the star.

The wise men brought presents for Jesus. What could the presents be? Match the big and small chests that are the same. What would your present to baby Jesus be?

6) FLIGHT INTO EGYPT: pre-writing skills + considering weight

Trace the lines and then draw your own lines to create hills on which Joseph, Mary and little Jesus had to flee to Egypt.

Joseph and Mary had to quickly decide what things they should bring to Egypt and what things they have to leave behind because they wouldn’t be able to carry it all. Will you help decide what is heavier? Circle the lighter and cross out the heavier object.

7) JOHN THE BAPTIST: pre-writing skills
