These dialogue-based role cards are designed to bring energy and authenticity into the English classroom, while fostering students' speaking skills in a context they might realistically encounter while on holiday. The activity builds speaking competence by focusing on functional language, politeness strategies, and structured question-answer exchanges. At the same time, it build on student-centred interests, such as making friends, chatting with peers, and organizing trips.

Flexible Use: The material is versatile and can be used in different formats:

• As a speaking-only activity (encourages spontaneity and fluency)
• As a writing-speaking combination (supports students who benefit from more structure)

To support varied learner needs, I’ve included a preparation worksheet that allows students to write out their dialogue in advance and extract anchor words. These keywords serve as prompts during presentation, helping students speak more freely without relying on a full script.

Differentiation: The tasks are differentiated to suit two CEFR levels:

• A2-level focus: making phone calls, asking for information, talking about holiday plans.
• B1-level extension: more spontaneous dialogue, discussing personal preferences and expectations (e.g. interest in cultural sites or social activities).
