This fun activity to practise simple past that will get your students out of their seats and moving around the classroom.

There are 2 levels.

Level 1 - Find it!

• Hang up the cards (no names!) around the room. (Only use cards 1-12 for a shorter activity or cards 1-24 for a longer activity)
• Give each student a worksheet
• Students read the sentences on their worksheet, and walk around the room to find the matching picture. When they find it, they write the number of  the picture next to the sentence.

Level 2 - Write it!

• Hang up the cards (with names!) around the room. (Only use cards 1-12 for a shorter activity or cards 1-24 for a longer activity)
• Give each student a worksheet
• Students walk around the room and find the picture which has the same number as on their worksheet. They look at the picture and write a sentence in simple past to describe what the person in the picture did yesterday. They should use the names on the cards in ther sentences.

blow, break, build, buy, catch, cut, dig, do, draw, drink, drive, eat, fall, feed, find, give, grow, hide, hold, make, ring, sing, sit, take
