This BINGO game is a great way to practise and consolidate vocabulary from my rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl'.

A round of BINGO also improves children's focus, skills of observation, listening skills and ability to play by a set of rules.

It can be played as a class or in small groups with a quizmaster.

I have included a set of picture/word cards for the quizmaster to draw at random. If you print two sets, they double up as a game of pairs too.

If someone gets three pictures in a row, they shout LINE!

If they get all nine pictures, they shout BINGO!

I like to embed each word in a sentence so that the children are exposed to as much language as possible. E.g. I can see Mum on a run. Look! It's Little Jean. There's a bat flying in the sky.

TIP: Use phrases and sentences directly from the book.
