In My Life: The Documentary, students imagine that their life is being turned into a documentary. Through meaningful interview questions, speaking challenges and a final writing task, they naturally move through their past, present and future while choosing the tenses they actually need to express their meaning.

Rather than telling learners “Now use the Present Perfect”, the resource encourages them to communicate first, notice their grammar choices and then analyse why a particular tense works.

The 4-page workshop includes 14 Life Interview prompts, Past–Present–Future speaking practice, follow-up questions for pair work, a Grammar Detective tense-reference activity, a final “One Life, One Timeline” speaking/writing challenge & creative variations.

It practises Present, Past and Future forms in meaningful contrast, including perfect and continuous forms, while developing fluency, personal expression and grammatical awareness.
