This story walk is a fun activity for spring and it will get all of your students moving!
Before the activity, put the pictures up on the wall around the classroom, or even better in a larger space like the corridor or outside.
Students read each part of the text and find the matching picture. They then write the letter of that picture on their worksheet. At the end of the activity, they can check their answers to find out the mystery message!
The story walk is available at 6 different levels so you can use this activity in many different classes, or simply pick the best level for each student in your class.
There are also extension activities at different levels for students to complete after the story walk.
The cut & glue activity is a multi-sensory reading activity which is particularly good for dyslexic learners.
The sequencing and matching cards are good for learners that need more practise with the text. This activity is also available at different levels. The students must match the sentences to the correct pictures and then put the pictures in the correct order.
There are gap-fill and reading activities that students can do after the story walk.
There is also a vocabulary worksheet. This can be done before the story walk to check the students understand the basic story.
