In Book 3, Brown Owl's Birthday Tea, we meet both Brown Owl's friends and family.  It is therefore a good opportunity to teach the family members in English (Mum, Dad, Granny, Grampy, brother, sister).

This is a sorting task with two categories: Friend or family?

Version one has pictures of Brown Owl's friends and family (suitable for non-readers)

Use the worksheet to play a game of listen and point or noughts and crosses before colouring, cutting and sorting the pictures.  The colouring can also be carried out as a teacher-led activtiy (colour dictation).

Version two has words instead of pictures.
