These wordmat picture dictionaries depict key words from the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl' and can be used in lots of different ways:
1) I spy with my little eye … Fox! (children point at Fox or place their rubber on it, for example). This can also be done as pairwork.
2) colour dictation - I spy with my little eye … a green frog!
3) bingo - each child chooses three pictures and places something on them, e.g. counters/glass nuggets. The teacher draws the picture cards at random and once their three have been called, the children shout 'Bingo!'.
This can also be played in groups with a bingo master for each group.
4) hide the wordcards / flashcards around the room and the children label the pictures themselves.
