Children can practise their reading skills with these peg cards.
There are five different cards to practise key words from the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl at the Seashore', written by Rachel Schmidlechner and illustrated by Nadja Grace Bodner.
Card 1: 'S' is for shells, sun, starfish, sandcastle, sandals, sandwich
Card 2: 'S' is for sea, seashore, seagull, sun cream, sunglasses, sun hat
Card 3: What is it? bell, bus, van, frisbee, crab, ice cream
Card 4: Who is it? (characters from the book) Little Jean, Auntie Lorna, Mabel Mouse, Penguin Dan, family, friends
Card 5: What are they? towels and mats, balls and bats, buckets and spades, Granny and Grampy, drink and snack, shells and stones
Either laminate and use pegs to mark the correct words or use an overhead projector pen and then wipe the cards clean.
