This bundle includes all you need to learn & practise key spring & Easter words with Brown Owl.
The key words are taken from the I-spy A4 picture/illustration.
It also includes an Easter poem, worksheets & a story walk using the same language.
I hope you have fun reading, rhyming and learning English with Brown Owl!
Practise key spring & Easter vocabulary with these differentiated wordmats. The wordmats can be used in lots of different ways:1) I spy with my little eye … an Easter basket! (children point at the Easter basket or place their rubber on it, for example). This can also be done as pairwork.2) colour dictation - I spy with my little eye … purple and pink Easter eggs!3) bingo - each child chooses three pictures and places something on them, e.g. counters/glass nuggets. The teacher draws the picture cards at random and once their three have been called, the children shout 'Bingo!'.This can also be played in groups with a bingo master for each group.4) hide the wordcards / flashcards around the room and the children label the pictures themselves = copy-writingDifferentiation: they use a pencil to write the words how they think they are spelt and then find the word cards in the room to check their work.Have fun learning English with Brown Owl!

This worksheet combines two topics: Easter/spring vocabulary and colours.Once children are familiar with the key spring/Easter words (I usually introduce these with flashcards), they can practise their reading skills by using the words in context.Level 1: simple sentences, e.g. Colour the chicks yellow.Level 2: longer sentences, e.g. Fox can see five chicks. Colour them yellow.I hope you have fun learning English with Brown Owl!Brown Owl is the main character in my series of rhyming picture books. For more information visit: www.readandrhyme.at

Playing games allows children to PRACTISE language in a fun and relaxed environment. This activity can be used as a filler, a station activity , for early finishers etc. The game itself does not last long but the pupils will enjoy it so much that they play it over and over again! Why not laminate the sheet so that it can be reused? Or children can place different coloured glass nuggets down instead of drawing Ox and Xs.By playing a game of tic tac toe / noughts and crosses, children have to USE the new language and tactics to win the game. They are in control of the level of language they use.E.g. If they choose the square with EASTER EGGS on it, they can say as long or as short answer as they like to get it:eggsEaster eggsI can see two Easter eggs. There are two versions of the game available: full colour or an ink-friendly black and white sheet.Have fun learning English with Brown Owl!Brown Owl is the main character in my series of rhyming picture books.
