Flashcards: Use the flash cards to introduce the vocabulary. You can create many games with them, such as scavenger’s hunts or matching the labels with the images. Can be used to colour in for younger students.
Matching pairs: Students can also play with these small flashcards. You can have a game with two students matching the labels and images, but they can also use those cards to play a memory game in pairs or small groups.
I have who has?: Speaking activity to practice comprehension, describing and fluency
Monster Dice: Make a dice and then play a describing game. Could also be a comparing (like Top Trumps) game.
Worksheet x 6: Learning, practice and consolidate
Functional language: Useful ways to help remember how to describe monsters. Fold the pages in half to not overload the students with grammar, and go through slowly with examples.
Word search + Puzzle: to help practice vocabulary
Final project: To consolidate all the vocabulary and present to the class.
Learn to learn: Self assessment sheet for student to reflect on an activity. Can be handed in, shared as a class/ group or pair, reported back individually or reported back by partner e.g "he found the activity super easy because… "
Great activity to help student develop critical thinking.
