This resource contains 40 cards with colour images of Carnival costumes which have been designed to play a guessing game called “Who am I?”. In this game, players must use yes/no questions to guess the costume. Questions are based on the characteristics of a person or animal that everyone will be able to identify. Although this game works well with any size group, the larger the group, the more entertaining the game becomes.
Here are some examples of the questions that the players may ask:
- Am I a person? / -No.
- Am I an animal? /-Yes.
- Have I got fur? /-Yes.
- Do I live in the jungle? /-No.
- Have I got long ears? /-Yes.
- Am I a rabbit? /-Yes
The winner of the game will be the player go is able to guess more costumes.
SETUP:
Place the cards face down in the centre of the playing area. All the players take a headband and adjust it around their head. The teacher deals the cards and insert one into the clip of their headband so that the other players can see it, but he/she cannot. Another option is to stick the card to the forehead of each player.
A timer is needed to make the game more challenging. In turns, each student will ask questions in order to guess his/her costume.
