Suggestion:
A good tip that we use with our students (they’re ESL / EFL) is to give them the following instructions:
1st. Read the questions.
2nd. Read the passage to get the gist of it.
3rd. Read the passage once more underlining the key ideas that will help them answer the questions.
If you’re an ESL / EFL teacher, you can also use these reading passages to improve their pronunciation. They can also practice their speaking skills by answering the True / False and Closed questions in their own words.
