Young learners can colour their favourite characters from the rhyming picture book 'Brown Owl' and glue them on lolly sticks. The sticks can then be used for various games/activities:1) The teacher uses the key phrase from the rhyming picture book "I spy, with my little eye, DOG!" All the children with Dog hold it up.2) The children hold up the sticks as they hear the characters in the story.3) Play a game of change places. The children choose one or two animals on sticks and sit in a circle. The teacher removes a chair and stands in the middle."I spy, with my little eye, CAT!" Anyone with Cat stands up and changes places. The next person in the middle says the phrase: "I spy, with my little eye, FOX!" All the foxes change places. If someone calls BROWN OWL then everyone changes places.Have fun reading and rhyming with Brown Owl!For more information about my series of rhyming picture books, please visit www.readandrhyme.at
