This is a vocabulary game in the format of a PowerPoint presentation. Every vocabulary item is represented by a photo. At first, the photo is hidden under grey squares and is then revealed one square at a time. The answer will be given on the next slide. In some instances, there is more than one possible solution. This can be especially helpful if you use the quiz in a warm-up. Therfore, students can remember and activate a variety of climate change-related vocabulary. You can play the quiz with the whole class, e. g. divide the class into small groups. I also love to use buzzers to enhance the entertainment show character of the game.
You can easily adapt this quiz to suit your learners. For example, you can hide and add slides. There is also an exemplary slide with the photo of a cute cat, so you can explain the principles of the game to your students.
Vocabulary included: Deforestation, fossil fuels, coal, renewable energy, solar panels, windmills, plastic pollution, ocean plastic, agriculture, fertilisers and pesticides, air pollution, traffic, recycling, global warming, demonstrations, protests, Fridays for Future, nuclear energy, nuclear power plant, vegetarian/ vegan/ plant-based diet
