These 4 simple rhymes can help structure English lessons with young learners:

1) Finding the class mascot (Brown Owl hand puppet)

I hide the puppet in the room. We chant the rhyme together. Once they can see Brown Owl, they point at him.

Are you ready to learn? Are you ready to play?

2) Who can Brown Owl sit with today?

Next we use the counting-out rhyme. All children who would like to have Brown Owl sit on their desk raise their hands.
