This activity is great for the first days of class as it allows students to get to know each other and find shared interests. It is also helpful as ice breaker to get students to speak, to improve group cohesion, and to address a wide range of skills and abilities in the classroom.
In order to carry the activity out, the teacher must start by numbering the four corners in the classroom or establishing four differentiated areas (1, 2, 3 and 4). Then, as each slide is projected, the question is read aloud and students move to one of the four assigned areas according to their preferences. This way, students will be standing next to classmates with whom they have something in common. At this point, teachers can elicit more details or information from the students by asking more specific questions.
The activity is very fun and dynamic as students can move around the classroom and practice the target language in an unconscious, meaningful way.
I hope you find this teaching resource useful :)
