2D Shapes: Match! (engelsk)

The game "Match!" is a fun way to repeat vocabulary in class. It is suitable for 2 to 6 people.

Fundamentals:

There are 6 different pictures on each of the cards. Two cards always have the same picture. Only the size of the picture may be different.

Preparation:

First, the playing cards should be printed out. The cards can either be printed on thicker paper or with a reverse side. The backs can be found on pages 10 and 11. After the cards have been cut out, it makes sense to laminate them. Before the game starts, the small groups should be placed around a table. All participants must be able to see the pile in the middle of the table clearly.

Implementation:

1. One person is appointed as the game leader.
2. She shuffles the cards and places one card face up in the middle of the table. She places the other cards face down in a pile in front of her.
3. At a signal, she turns a second card from the pile face up into the middle.
4. The other players look at both cards face up and search for the same picture.
5. The person who recognizes and names the match the quickest receives the card that has been in the middle for longer.
6. The game master then reveals the next card.
7. The winner is the player who has collected the most cards at the end. In the event of a tie, there is a duel: both players turn over a card from their own pile at the same time. Whoever calls out the double symbol first wins the duel.
