Layout and design is a topic that I wish was more at the forefront of curricula for education degrees. While for years I have been putting together PowerPoint presentations and worksheets, I was never aware of the principles I should follow to make my designs more cohesive and thus more learner-friendly.

Our learners benefit so much from a clean and clutterfei design because it reduces the unnecessary visual noise and in turn lets them focus on the subject.

Knowing what I know now I look back to my early days in teaching and professional development wishing I knew at least the baby steps of layout and design.
