This is a classic but challenging and funny game to get your students to talk and improvise. Its purpose is to help your teammates guess the notion you are describing, yet there's a list of three or four words (depending on their language level) you can't use. For example, someone receives a card with “kitchen” as a word to be explained and “to cook”, “table” and “to eat” as forbidden words.

The cards will best fit A2-B2 students, yet they can be modified in order to be used with lower levels as well. They are perfect for repeating the recently learned vocabulary, as a great tool for developing speaking ability and a quick time filler.
