I just love a good pub quiz, and so do my students. A pub quiz takes almost no preparation and is tons of fun. It can be used at the beginning or ending of the year or any time in between. How does it work?You let the students form groups. They can even come up with names for their teams. Then they just need a piece of paper and a pen, and you just have to read out the questions (don't read the answers). You give the students time to discuss and choose an answer after every question, then you move on. (For some it would be ideal if you could show them pictures as well, but it is not necessary.) At the end, teams switch their sheets, you tell them the answers and they correct each others answers. The team with the most correct answers wins!The great thing about these questions is that they are all what I call guessable. Most people don't know the answers to these questions, but with some thinking you can make an educated guess. I start the year with this pub quiz with my year 9 students. We use Green Line and the year 9 book focuses on the English-speaking world.Have fun with the material and let me know how it goes. After finishing the 9/11 material, I give my students this as homework. It is pretty much what the 9/11 memorial website suggests as a lesson, but turned into a homework worksheet that the students can work on on their own.

The act allows any person to sue someone who performs or induces an abortion, or aids and abets one, once "cardiac activity" in an embryo can be detected via transvaginal ultrasound, which is usually possible beginning at around six weeks of pregnancy.
