This material (handout + sample blog comment + analysis tasks + solutions) is designed for students at a B2 level (CEFR). It provides a collection of advanced phrases and useful expressions to help students revise this text type, structure their blog comments, express their opinions, develop convincing arguments and improve their writing skills.
The material includes a sample blog comment on the topic of sports and their effects on health, stress and self-esteem. Students are encouraged to analyse the text in detail, focusing on typical features of a blog comment, rhetorical questions, informal language, arguments and counterarguments.
In addition, students practise identifying useful expressions and rewriting an introduction to express a different point of view. These activities help them develop a better understanding of how to write well-structured and convincing blog comments at B2 level.
Solutions to the analysis tasks are included, making the material suitable for classroom use, pair work or independent practice.
If your students are not as advanced yet, feel free to check out this slightly easier infosheet and the two sample blog comments (A2+, B1 Level).
