This summer-themed speaking game encourages students to explain vocabulary creatively while avoiding specific forbidden words. The activity is ideal for Grades 8–12 and works especially well during the final weeks before summer break. Students practise spontaneous speaking, paraphrasing and active vocabulary use in an engaging game format.

ready-to-print cards for classroom use
suitable for pair work, small groups or whole-class activities
Students take turns explaining words such as “beach”, “camping”, “graduation” or “postcard” without using the listed forbidden words on the card. Their classmates try to guess the correct term as quickly as possible. The game promotes fluency, communication skills and flexible vocabulary use in English.
For longer durability, the cards can be printed on thicker paper and laminated. 📌
