ENGLISH MONTHS AND SEASONS WORD SEARCHES ENGLISH FOR CHILDREN MONTHS AND SEASONS WORD SEARCHES BEGINNER ENGLISH MONTHS AND SEASONS OF THE YEAR WORD SEARCHES WITH ANSWER KEYS AND VOCABULARY LISTWord searches are a simple and effective way of encouraging students to engage with the written word in English, refreshing and reinforcing language as they complete the grids. This set is aimed at beginner English students of all ages, focusing on the months and seasons of the year. The target vocabulary also includes related vocabulary such as last month / next month . Additionally, ordinal numbers first, second, third, fourth etc provide a really useful language learning opportunity, and increase the challenge in a number of grids. Students have to apply their broader knowledge of English in order to know which word to search for in the grid, for example The third month of the year is ? This makes the activity more comprehensive and engaging than a straightforward months and seasons of the year in English vocabulary exercise.The set features 10 differentiated word searches, with an increasing level of challenge. Grids 1-5 feature English prompts and English responses in the grid. Students also complete a list of corresponding translations in German for additional consolidation. Grids 6 and 7 feature questions in English such as January - next month ? or ? is the first season of the year and students have to work out that they are seeking February or Spring in the grid, noting the capitalisation of spring due to its position at the beginning of the sentence. Grids 8-10 feature German prompts, with students looking for the corresponding English word in the grid, and also writing the English word in the vocabulary list.Each grid is in landscape format, and has an accompanying answer key so that students can check their own responses. There is an accompanying English-German vocabulary list which features all the vocabulary used in the word searchesThis kind of activity is really versatile, and useful in a range of learning contexts: bell ringers / starters, refreshers, finishers, fun-time fillers or sub / cover lessons at any time during the school year, as well as during the period where this is the current language focus.
