This material is designed to help pupils write their own detective stories. The material includes:
- an information sheet on the structure of a detective story
- a template for collecting and structuring ideas for your own detective story
Level: B2
The handout should be read through and discussed together in class, then pupils should sort their ideas for a detective story on their own or in pairs using the template. The teacher can give individual suggestions for improvement before they write the story down together.
Alternatively, the class can also work together (or in groups) to sort ideas for a detective story on the template and then write the story down individually. Individual pupils can then read out their version. This can provide insights into the writing style of the other pupils and, ideally, new inspiration for future texts.
