This PowerPoint is perfect for introducing the students to the topic of phrasal verbs. First, students discuss questions, in which phrasal verbs are brought to their attention, such as

• What might make you fall out with your friends? 
• What can you take up if you want to get fit?
• How long could you get by without using your phone? 

Then, eight phrasal verbs with the verb "look" and four with the verb "take" are introduced. After a short quiz, in which the students have to guess the meanings of five other combinations, they have to prepare a role play. They are given three different scenarios (job interview, dispute teenager/parents, online dating) and five to seven phrasal verbs that must be used in their role play. This is a fun and interactive way of practising this difficult grammar topic :-)
