This PowerPoint is ideal for improving your students' speaking skills and practising individual long turns. 

For each of the five topics, which are...

you'll find two speaking tasks as well as additional brainstorming questions, vocabulary, important phrases and key ideas that might be relevant for final exams or language assessments.

Teaching Ideas:

• In total 10 individual long turns are included. Assign each one to one or two students, give them 10 minutes to prepare and then they have to present their task in front of class. Takes time but ensures that every person gets individual feedback and practises talking in front of bigger groups. 
• Go through one topic at a time. For each topic, six to seven different brainstorming questions are included. Assign them to small groups and they have a bit of time to come up with an answer, then discuss their ideas in class. Afterwards, the students can choose either ILT1 or ILT2 and have five minutes to prepare that task. They present their task to their neighbour who should give them some feedback. This way students get to talk more and about different topics.
